When young transgender people seek healthcare services, how doctors and nurses refer to them matters.<br />Nearly 80% of transgender youths want electronic medical records, to reflect their preferred names and pronouns.<br />According to a survey published in JAMA pediatrics, 69% of trans youth used a name different from their legal name.<br />However, just 4% have completed the legal name change process at the time of the survey.
